Fifteen years ago, we started with nothing but a vision… and a desk under the stairs. It was the height of the credit crunch, and while most people were pulling back, we decided to lean in. That small desk in a quiet corner became the launchpad for a business that now employs over 400 dedicated staff members.
Our journey hasn’t been easy. Over the years, we’ve weathered Brexit, a global pandemic, the cost of living crisis, and the ongoing war in Ukraine, all of which have had rippling effects across the industry and beyond. We’ve navigated unprecedented challenges, including staffing shortages, supply chain issues, and rising costs. Yet, through all of it, we stood firm, adapted fast, and never lost sight of our purpose.
One of the proudest moments in our history came in December 2021, when we completed a Management Buyout (MBO). What made this truly special was who was involved: one of our original cleaners and an apprentice administrator who had both grown through the ranks over the years. Their commitment and transformation into shareholders is a powerful reflection of what we stand for… opportunity, growth, and loyalty.
Along the way, we’ve celebrated more than just commercial milestones. Our charitable work has made a real difference in our communities. From supporting local initiatives to helping families in need, giving back has always been a cornerstone of our values. And who could forget our summer BBQs at HQ, events that have become a symbol of unity, laughter, and genuine appreciation for the incredible team we’re lucky to call family.
But it’s not just about the business, it’s about people. Watching our staff grow, not just in their roles, but in their confidence, skills, and personal lives, has been one of the greatest rewards. Their journeys, each unique, each hard-earned, remind me daily why we do what we do.
If I’m honest, it’s been a roller coaster. There have been moments of real strain, moments where I’ve questioned everything. And yes, it’s made me a little more grey! But I wouldn’t trade this journey for anything. I genuinely love what I do.
As we look ahead, I feel nothing but excitement. If the last 15 years have taught us anything, it’s that resilience, belief, and teamwork can take you anywhere. So, here’s to the next chapter, whatever it may bring, and to continuing this incredible journey together.
