Closing the Gap: Our Commitment to Pay Equity

At Always Responsive Commercial Cleaning, fairness isn’t just a buzzword—it’s part of who we are. We’re proud to publish our 2025 Gender Pay Gap Report, which shows that we’re making real progress toward pay equity across our business.

Key Findings at a Glance

✅ Median Pay Gap: 0%

This means that at the midpoint of our business, men and women are paid equally—something we’re incredibly proud of.

📉 Mean Pay Gap: 3.93%

This is significantly below the UK average of 14.3% and notably better than industry norms, especially in the cleaning and security sectors, which often see wider disparities due to role segmentation.

🎁 Bonus Gap: Room for Growth

While our bonus pay gap is higher (mean of 12.01%, median of 20.55%), it’s important to note that bonuses are issued at the discretion of our clients, not through our internal policies. Still, we’re committed to working more closely with clients to drive greater transparency and equity in this area.

👷 Who Earns What

The majority of our team earns between the Real Living Wage and £12.00 per hour, reflecting our dedication to fair, sustainable pay. Higher-paid roles tend to be in our security division—which remains male-dominated—but we’re actively addressing this through inclusive development initiatives.

Why This Matters

We’re not just reporting numbers—we’re using them to spark change. Although we’ve achieved balance at the median level, the small mean gap reminds us there’s still work to do, especially when it comes to representation in higher-paid roles.

Our Plan for Continued Progress

Here’s how we’re taking action:

Support Career Progression

We’re investing in leadership training and skills development to help more women move into higher-paid roles—yes, including security positions.

Client Collaboration

We’ll be talking more with our clients about how bonus structures can inadvertently impact our commitment to equality.

Inclusive Hiring Practices

By continuously reviewing our job ads and selection criteria, we aim to remove any unintentional barriers.

Ongoing Monitoring

We’ll continue to review our gender pay data annually and refine our approach to keep improving.

A Culture of Accountability

We believe that pay equity should be the norm, not the exception. Publishing this report is one way we hold ourselves accountable—because building an inclusive, fair, and rewarding workplace that benefits everyone.
